My Story & How I Coach
I didn't start with money. I grew up in very humble beginnings — nobody handed me a playbook, and nobody was knocking on doors offering opportunity to people like me. Sports became my way out.
I was a multi-sport collegiate athlete — then the typical story: an injury, and my financial aid went with it. Two options: go back home to West Texas — be another guy whose highlight reel ends in high school, working a normal job in the oil field, because that’s all there is where I’m from — or find a way out. I chose the way out. I worked the oil field — drilling rigs, pulling units — and a year as a ranch hand. The summers after that were door-knocking — roofing, window cleaning, a little solar — installing gym equipment, hotshotting — anything that paid, just to make sure I never went back.
And even after the injury, I was blessed to keep competing — at the collegiate level, in powerlifting. I won a national championship, helped my team secure a team national championship, represented the USA and won gold at the NAPF World Championships — and earned a spot at the IPF-sanctioned Arnold SBD Pro American: a pro meet, the best in the world on one platform. Blessed to compete at multiple national championships and IPF-sanctioned meets over the years. I started coaching my last years of undergrad, became a GA football coach, and was blessed to earn two master's degrees during that stint — an MBA and a Master of Science in exercise physiology. Different arenas, same engine: discipline transfers.
During that coaching stint I was also building two companies — a personal training brand that started back in undergrad as an online side hobby — a couple hundred bucks here and there — and blew up as my own results in the sport grew, into nationwide coaching for everyday clients and athletes alike. That, plus a diesel-mechanic operation. Both were growing fast. Then COVID hit, and just as fast as I was winning, I was losing. Around the same time I gave just about all my day-trading profits back to the market. So there I was: two master's degrees, two dying businesses, one young-life crisis. All that history of work — and it felt like there was nothing out there for me. I won't sugarcoat it: I felt hopeless. I was weighing the military seriously enough that I started physically training to leave, and chasing tech certifications because that's where the world was heading. If you've ever been in your early twenties asking "what the hell do I do with my life?" — I've been there. That's most of us.
My mother had become a successful real estate agent years before — so I got my license and followed her path. It worked: I built a high-six-figure real estate business, all while training and competing as a competitive mixed martial artist — a full-time job in itself. And that's exactly when it hit me. I was doing the thing I dreaded most: trading my time for money, instead of hyper-focusing on my passions — my family, and my fight career. Successful on paper. Owned by my own calendar.
So hear me when I say this: I've lived damn near every avenue there is — blue collar, door-to-door sales, degrees, coaching, entrepreneurship, trading, real estate, competitive sports. And every one of them taught me the same lesson: hard work alone is not the answer. If it was, every blue-collar worker in America would be a millionaire. You can be the right driver — but in the wrong vehicle, you can work as hard as you want and stay exactly where you are. You need the right skills, the right systems, and the right mentors.
Then I found this business — and I saw a model that could truly scale and help other people do the same. No four-year degree. No $10,000 course. A state license that costs a couple hundred bucks — and a real career on the other side of it. Because here's the truth: 99% of people are never given a real opportunity in life. Especially people from humble beginnings. Especially in communities like mine. Nobody's knocking on those doors.
So I decided to build the thing I never got: a real shot, with a real playbook — for anybody willing to work for it, and especially for people from the same walk of life as me.
I went all-in as a producer — and in my first year I personally wrote right at half a million dollars in production. Then I saw how selfish I was being — keeping this opportunity to myself instead of providing it to people from my own communities. So I chose to build leaders instead of just producing: I started my own agency and grew it from zero to $500,000 per month in team production — in six months — with the average producer on my team writing $20,000 a month. Today I spend my time developing the next wave of leaders. Every one of those numbers is real and documented — and I'll show you the boards myself when we meet.
And one more thing you should know about me: I don't think I'm special — by any means. But I do believe I'm different. We live in a world that has normalized average — and I think it's okay to be abnormal. It's normal to be average. It is not normal to be not average. So you have to ask yourself which route you want — because to be not average, you're going to have to do things average people won't. That's hard. And it's true.
Around here, we call that the Mamba mentality: chasing the best version of yourself every single day, no matter what. Day by day — one percent better in every avenue of your life, in everything you do. Because if you're going to compete at anything, why not be the best fucking version of yourself doing it?
Beyond business, I believe success should improve every area of your life — not just your bank account. I run my own life on the Four F's:
Faith
The foundation. Something bigger than you, anchoring everything you do.
Family
The reason. The people you're building for — and the time you're buying back.
Fitness
The engine. Discipline in your body shows up as discipline in your business.
Finance
The tool. Money isn't the goal — it's what funds the life and the legacy.
When those four keep growing, everything else follows.
When someone joins my team, my goal isn't just to help them make money. It's to help them become a better leader, a better business owner, and someone capable of building generational wealth for their family.
